Why I Created The Pleasure Lab

I’ve always been curious about sex toys. Long before they were easy to buy online. Long before they were framed as “wellness.” For me, they were never about novelty. They were about understanding my body.
And honestly? Vibrators have helped me orgasm about 98% of the time throughout my life. That’s just my reality. And it turns out, it’s not unusual at all.
According to research published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, 81.6% of women don’t orgasm from intercourse alone without additional clitoral stimulation. Only 18.4% say penetration by itself is enough. So if you’ve ever felt like something was missing or assumed your body was the problem, you’re very much not alone.
Yet so much of our culture still treats vibrators as optional extras. Or worse, as a sign that something isn’t working “naturally.”
That narrative never sat right with me.
Why pleasure tools matter for most women
For many bodies, clitoral stimulation isn’t a bonus. It’s essential. Pleasure tools can be supportive, practical, and deeply affirming when they’re used with intention and good information.
And yet, the sexual wellness space is often loud, confusing, and sales-driven. There are endless products, very little guidance, and not much acknowledgment of how things like stress, postpartum changes, nervous system regulation, or relationship dynamics affect desire and arousal.
That gap is what I wanted to address.
What makes The Pleasure Lab different
I created The Pleasure Lab because I wanted a different kind of sex-positive shop. One that treats sexual wellness products as legitimate tools, not impulse buys. A place that offers guidance, not just checkout buttons. Context, not just marketing claims.
My background as a sex and relationship coach through The Connection Lab shapes how I think about pleasure tools, desire, and the many reasons intimacy changes over time.deeply informs everything here. I think about shame, identity shifts, postpartum experiences, and the many reasons pleasure changes over time.
That perspective shapes how I curate this store.
I don’t carry everything. I carry things I believe in. Products that are body-safe, thoughtfully designed, and genuinely helpful across a wide range of experiences and experience levels.
A sex coaching lens on product recommendations
What makes this shop unique isn’t just the products. It’s the support and guidance that comes with them.
Shopping for sex toys can feel awkward, overwhelming, or intimidating, especially if you’re not sure what your body needs or where to start. You don’t have to have all the answers here. Curiosity is enough.
I’m available for questions, honest conversations, and recommendations grounded in education rather than pressure. Sometimes that means helping you choose a product. Sometimes it means helping you realize a tool isn’t the first or only step.
From time to time, I’m also able to offer private or personalized pricing when people reach out directly. This allows me to stay aligned with brand agreements while still taking care of my community in a more human, one-to-one way. If you ever want guidance or help navigating options, you’re welcome to connect.
What you can expect from this blog
This blog is an extension of the same philosophy behind the shop.
Here, you’ll find honest education, practical guidance, and real conversations about pleasure, bodies, and intimacy. I’ll share posts about choosing pleasure tools, understanding how arousal works, navigating changes after childbirth, and making sense of desire when things feel different or complicated.
There’s no pressure to buy. No one-size-fits-all answers. Just thoughtful support for real bodies.
If you’re curious to explore, you can browse the shop at your own pace or simply spend some time here learning and getting oriented.
Thanks for being here. I’m really glad you found your way to this corner of the internet.
